tapa turtle
Tapa turtle
This term Mrs Gibson White has come in and we have been learning about tapa and we had maths involved. For maths we were doing geometry, symmetry and rotation. For that she put out these amazing tasks for us to do. These were the tasks: getting in line, wrap it up,cut it out, pattern pieces, circle power, one good turn, reflecting on counters. I learnt heaps doing those stations.
What is tapa? Tapa cloth (or simply tapa) is actually bark but it's a special type of bark that comes from a tree and the name of the tree is the paper mulberry tree. This takes a lot of work there is beating, peeling and most of all patience you need patients because it takes about 5 weeks to do the tapa or less or more.
I have been working on something for a while and it took patience and hard work. I liked how it turned out here it is

Term 1 Inquiry
For our term one inquiry, Mr
Matthews taught us a number of different soccer skills games. We then got into
teams and chose one that we wanted to innovate to improve it. After we recorded
our new rules we got to teach the rest of the class our new game. It was great
fun!

Raglan

Tawa Team had a wonderful day trip to Raglan beach. Hannah and her group completed the beach relay and had a lot of fun. She used the key competency of Participating and Contributing by accepting responsibility as an individual and as a group member. She also demonstrated the competency of Relating to Others when she worked cooperatively with her group and was considerate of their thoughts and feelings.

Shelter for a Little Spotted Kiwi
This is my shelter for a little spotted kiwi. My model does not match my plan exactly because I couldn't find the materials that I wanted to use, so I ended up making it out of a cardboard box.
A question I still have about a kiwi is: Do Little Spotted Kiwi live in snow?

Description
Bees have eyes that look like flies eyes. Bees have stripes to warn predators that they are poison. Bees have stripes that means they are poison and the colour of the stripes are black and white. Bees have a sharp stinger. Bees have 4 wings.
Dynamics
Bees make heaps and heaps of honey. The bees go out to collect nectar while the other bees are in the hive still making honey. Bees dance to communicate. Bees can not fly in the rain. Bees can only fly 5 miles from their hive.
Leave bees alone.
Plant flowers so the bees can make more honey. Bees are close to extinction, so we need to protect them.
